Pilates is not a cardio workout, you might want to choose a HIIT workout instead if you’re looking to lose weight. Pilates will help to tone, strength and improve posture, it is a low-impact exercise which can be combined with other workouts across the week. However its advised that Pilates should be done no more than 3 times a week.

This type of Pilates class will improve the strength and tone of all your core muscles including abs, buttocks, hips and back. It helps to improve flexibility whilst teaching and training your body to be more balanced and centered. Your oblique muscles will become more defined and shaped and your posture will longer if you take regular Pilates classes. It’s an ideal form of exercise for those looking to stretch out and unwind.

Pilates like yoga, uses similar moves and techniques but has a different purpose along with benefits. Pilates works on reducing the tension and reliving stress in the muscles. It focuses on improving the strength and flexibility of your whole body to help reduce the risk of injury. When you combine Pilates classes with yoga classes, you can reap the benefits of each in both classes as they both complement one another.
